Awwww-Snap! Trailer bike-rack is looking good.
Photos first, text later.
...Well, I guess it's later now. It's the weekend finally.
Took all the bolts out tonight, wiped it down with mineral spirits, rubbed (rocked?) it all with a wire brush. Painted it with primer. Paint it with paint tomorrow.
It came out pretty good I think, I'm happy with the design, some of which came together at the last minute as I was looking at the cut metal pieces on the table. Some of the welding is kind of ugly, done later in the evening if you catch my drift. That came out of a ten foot piece with about a foot left over. Cost about eight bucks at Discount. The fork-mounts were $50 though Steve after 50% off.
Well, that's boring now... next project!

Awesome five bike holder. It looks bomb proof. What's with the metal; it looks like it's stainless steel?
Regarding the Ft. Snelling pic. We have seen loads of deer there as well.
Will you be able to put your Enduro with its thru-axle on that?
Not stainless, just regular.
No thru-axle, just family camping bikes.
So you didn't go with your first idea...
No, this was cleaner.
I did almost the same thing, except I drilled holes right through the front bar on the trailer to bolt down the the skewer mounts. Question (and I realize this is a very old post), what do you do to secure the back wheels to the trailer? I've used an assortment of straps, bungee cords, but it is always a hassle. Have though of bolting on a roof rack tray assembly, have one salvaged, but new ones are too expensive.
Hi Josh - ya, just regular old bungees. Never really thought about trying to improve that part of it.
Thanks!
