Stopped by tonight (Friday) after midnight. What a cool scene. Fixies skidding to a stop to get their ticket punched, singles (mostly), geared of course, big-wheel unicyclists, a tandem couple, creaky-crank old bike, Xtracycle-style long-bike. A Pedersen - know what that is? Pretty fricking cool.
Saw one guy jackknife and crash grasping for his ticket as he pulled up to the stop, and I heard there was a jump at the previous checkpoint from a couple who said they both hit it, she on her road bike.
You can see the difference in fitness-levels in their conversation and body language when they pull up, from cool and calm to nearly done. Now six hours into it.
