LuLu

From the what the fuck were they thinking file. I've listened to this one-and-a-half times - yes, the whole thing. I think the Pitchfork review nails it. It literally sounds like you're playing two albums at the same time.

I have always liked it and the more times I hear it the more I like it. You just give it 20 years and you will all understand. Or maybe I just have really bad taste in music.

Really? - you have this album? It's a weird one, it's not that it's bad exactly, it's just that it's like two albums mixed together - Reed sounds like he never listened to the backing music and just spoke his words, without attempt to match or counter-point the tempo or force. I'm going to give it another try at some point.

I mean I have just listened to the long version of the song "The View" ? since it was released in September? I have only listened to it a about 4 times. I have tried to download the album but I don't think it is available on the amazon cloud yet. I think it is better coming from a lou reed fan rather than a metallica fan perspective. I don't know if I really like the whole album or not but am a bit fascinated with how so many others have kind of piled on the "this album is bad" opinion. I trust your opinion as independent of the herd but not most of them on this album.

Metallica hasn't made a good album in 20 years and this is just another pack of jammy b-sides with annoying backing vocals. I love VU but I haven't heard a solo-Reed album I really liked since Blue Mask. I think this would work fine if he sang "to the music" but he doesn't. Judge for yourself.

I couldn't make the link function at work and again I have not listened to more than the view and samples of the whole album. When I hear the view it is like Metallica is in the background and Lou is at my bar table. I am not really listening to what Lou is saying but enjoying the mood and vibe of it all together. It may really be crap and I don't think I would buy it but I do appreciate the uniqueness of it fail or not. I think your description is better than any of the reviews I have skimmed in the past.

So you like the record you didn't listen to and think my review is better than the ones you didn't read - you're cracking me up. I fixed the link.
