Chris Robertson Paul Reed Smith.  Coil tap humbucker + soap bar neck + three way switch did I mention Paul Reed Smith?  Did I mention two guitar amps and selected cabinets panned left and right via Line 6 HD500X amp simulator plugged between the guitar and the good stereo.  Sounds wicked with my little squire strat now.  This thick slab of PRS guitar goodness arriving next week.

This will be my third guitar in the last probably fifteen years. I am actually rising above the plateau of guitar skill that I have had since teen, simply from playing more. The 500x is so easy to make sound good.

POD is great garage fun, but not as good as two tube basement half stacks

The guitar is nice and with the tap and soapbar (by itself!) sounds a million ways great

All true. and if that electronic simulation doesn't work out (but it does!) there are of course two half stacks Marshall and Laney in the basement, they do sound good. I am the master of low volume rocking out with excellent sound

I don't really know Chris Robertson's band's music at all

turns out it sounds good with regular amps too
