The last month has been crazy. I have changed jobs and jumped into a fast speed role. ...After idling for a while admittedly, so struggling. It's going to be great I think. I am working hard and long.
Two weekends ago I removed the carpet on the third floor. When we moved in to the house twelve years ago we also had kitchen and bathroom projects underway. We laid the carpet on the rough damaged floor with minimal repair. Last weekend full OSB sheathing by me including much attention to the stairs.
I have been riding my bicycle downtown to work three days a week and it's a great commute, hope to keep going through the winter. Heat is more my enemy than cold. I have a bus card if not.

Canada. Traveling clockwise around most of Superior somewhere between one and two if the lake was a clock face. Cresting a big hill and coming down the other side and across a bridge. This is the view to the right.
The middle of the bridge was flagged and closed to cars, I stopped there, jumped off, and started shooting, both phone and camera but I didn't take my helmet off so camera pictures are approximate. Traffic through Canada was much lighter than when we went before, time of year I suppose. delete this bullshit
No no, so, in the time the moto was stopped in the center of the highway, between the lanes, no cars went by. Thirty seconds at least, sixty maybe.
So much easier to travel by yourself

This is Copper Harbor Michigan
This is Copper Harbor Michigan. At the top of the Keweenaw Peninsula. "Copper King" motel. Doors on both sides of your room. The last 11 miles to get there (there is a sign!) are what motorcycle dreams are made of. Older two lane blacktop. Speed limit is 45 but 65 is the way to ride it on a moto. If there are cars in front of you stop and let them go, you want it to be open and free. Curving undulating sun and shadow tree canopy road eventually lake Superior views. Love

Campground second year same site. Large vehicles behind, motos and tents in front. Hammock in tall trees
DR650, DR650, 1989 Honda TransAlp, DR650
Rode with these guys first day, camped next to me, talked to Zephyr, their lead dude last year too. They all smoke which is annoying. That TransAlp is a great looking bike from 1989. Amazing he can ride it now.
First time riding with different guys and it was a good match, will do it more

BMW GS 650, Yamaha WR 250, DR 650, DR 650
Sensi George top, he offered me less wisdom this year, but I'm ready to fly so probably on purpose. I brought light weight hot weather body armor and jersey/pants. I run hot as you know and it made a world of difference. His work buddy or his buddy's buddy or something these guys, cool dudes. Would love to have been riding that WR250. We rode the classic Northern Highlands route. Both parts

Solo Superior Loop
Leaving in the morning for Duluth. Then one night stay in Canada on the way around to the campground we stayed at before near Sault Ste Marie MI, remember standing in the lake up to our chests? Then Copper Harbor. Then down to CADVR 2019 for three full days of dirtier riding than I am used to.
The last two years that I have gone it has been very hot. Very hot on the sometimes slow speed trails. Very hot when stopping to pick your bike up again because your melting brain did not calculate the singletrack curve correctly. Very hot running-push-starting your bud's bike in Aerostich. I run hot anyway
Last year at the campground I entered the raffle to support the cause like everyone else, and I won second place (first was a large enclosed pro-shelf car trailer doh) and got a full-on off-road helmet, jersey, pants, gloves, so I bought knee and arm and back pads to go with it, tested on hot MPLS days, way better. Huge helmet breathing flow. Air flowing through body pads.
I had to purchase a larger top bag to fit the new gear plus the usual gear. Packed it up, strapped the helmet to the back. Solid, tight, ready to ride, manageable but huge. In the morning I tore it all off, packed it in a box and shipped it to the event. Haul it home on the bike. Best 25 bucks I have ever spent. Fuck you! Vacation starts now!

Chris Robertson Paul Reed Smith. Coil tap humbucker + soap bar neck + three way switch did I mention Paul Reed Smith? Did I mention two guitar amps and selected cabinets panned left and right via Line 6 HD500X amp simulator plugged between the guitar and the good stereo. Sounds wicked with my little squire strat now. This thick slab of PRS guitar goodness arriving next week.

Thank you Cyril Ritchard for speaking my beloved childhood memories of the Alice in Wonderland story records. Rainy summer weeks in the MI UP cabin in the 70's, sitting at the table, looking out the window at the grey lake. working on legos, listening to the record player. That and John Denver. He voices all of the different characters amazingly with his British accent. I believe that is him and his daughter on the back of my box set.
Twas brillig, and the slithy todes did gyre and gimble in the wabe. Something something something, and the mome wraths outgrabe. beware the bander-snatch my son the claws that catch, the jaws that bite. I can hear it in my head
