Bearing-shafted inflatable wheels on drilled and cotter-pinned solid rod - originally built as a through-the-cabinet replacement for the previous (now dead). Wood and (axle-to-axle) bungees will now allow me to easily solo-wheelbarrow the new grill from the backyard to the street for next week's night out. Gotta get some Everett's too to share the flavor. Happy MPLS to you all!

Oh well, I solved the problem with what I had at the moment. Something to do. Cause then I could blog about it. double stupid.
In the end, an axle long enough to span the grill base and a pipe for it to rotate in was all that was needed. E's cheese brats were a big hit.
that's not the entire truth
OK, honestly, I bungeed a section of 2x6 to the pipe to keep the bent-down trim-edge of the grill bottom from warping against the pipe. Next year's enhancements: affix some grippy platform to the pipe and maybe use a tie-down to stiffen it up.
shut up!
