Algy's Breath of the Pit is pretty awesome. It's not smooth like you're thinking, it's rough. He slightly updates and nails it. Nice work man.

Minneapolis weather was crazy last night
No electric 8P to 11A at my Powderhorn-south neighborhood those only slightly further south report none still. Other nearby's have trees on their houses including across the alley, so I'm feeling pretty lucky.

Crumbling stairs are the next project. Steps made of plates of concrete - vertical side plates and L-shaped riser/tread pieces interlocking with a notch at the back. And large flat top plates. All held in place with the drilled-in railing. Probably 1940's I'm guessing, same age as the siding. I can't find anything about that style of step on the internet anywhere, if you can please send. Wow.
I'll definitely preserve the railing now that I can get it off of the concrete without cutting it. Tried with everything I already had yesterday to even slightly loosen one bolt. Today bought a HF breaker bar for twelve dollars that looks like jewelry and works like a dream with my sockets. Fence has been moved back past the side door. Trailer is empty. It's practically done now except for the work.
