Kool Stop

Surlys cleaned and greased and retired.  Thinking 15 years use.  Replacement Handsome Cycles wheel house NE MPLS are so nice I can put these away.  Thank you Surly New and Mavic Open Pro and mostly Quality Wheel House for getting me to this point and being the leader.  Bought a second set for winter wheels.  Remember wider fatter rims require wider fatter tubes

Used for many years

Cleaning and Re-remembered that the hub is actually double fixed. So the single speed gear was always sitting on half a shelf. New wheels are burly

Wider fatter is also harder to push. 22 Tooth single speed freewheel mounted today should be good. With the chunky bike paths I just couldn't get on top of the 20 gear. I'm old. 18 Summer. This is a road bike 42 chainring

Hey December John, February John here. After taking January off, I can report that 22 tooth with since bought Schwalbe 700 winter spike work well on crazy snowstorm ice bike paths to downtown. Sticks pretty good, but rolls light. Lighter gear for the harder spike tire push. Commuting is sketchy mountain biking
